What are you Facing, Embracing, Defying and Conquering? After a full normal life, Numa lost his ability to move, to walk, to talk, and sadly he is totally dependent on his family for a minimal task.

How do you FACE it? He has faced the loss of all his faculties, including his mobility, his talking, his sight after having a full and complete normal life.

How do you EMBRACE it? He has embraced this loss through his fight to come back to us; from being given only 48 hours to live and had a full brain damage to slowly waking up and connecting to us through smiles and vocalizations. Not all the storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path and we are learning to embrace the storms of our life.

How do you DEFY it? We feel he is defying it through his cry and getting better every day even through small things like sleeping more or giving us a smile. We might not be there yet, but today we are closer and stronger that yesterday.

How do you CONQUER it? He is conquering by demonstrating to us that he is still with us making a small steps on the gait trainer, or pedaling his adapted tricycle, or turning his head to us when we talk to him. He is with us, better days are coming, his story isn’t over yet.  We believe in the power of prayers, faith, positivity and spiritual belief can help you conquer the impossible. Nothing is impossible when you want to fulfill a dream.

What does this scholarship from VVF mean to you? It simply means the whole world to us, thank you for providing the help we need, having our minivan modified will make the transfers so much easier and we will protect ourselves from a back injury.
