About Victoria

Hello! My name is Victoria Oliver.  I am 25 years old, married to a wonderful man named Josh Oliver and have a beautiful little doggie named Haley.  Josh and I will be married for 2 years as of June 2nd and we have been together for a total of 6 years.

I grew up mainly in New Bern, North Carolina.  There I cheered, and did some modeling.  When I finished high school I ended up moving to Wilmington NC, to go to college.  I attended Cape Fear Community College and Graduated with an Associates of Arts.  I then furthered my learning at Miller Motte Technical College, where I trained to be an Esthetician.

I received my first job as an Esthetician at Bangz Hair Salon and Spa.  I work in the spa and do services such as: facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, tinting, Lash Extensions and Make up application.  I enjoy everything about my job. I have been at Bangz for over 2 years now.

In January, I woke up one morning and noticed that my left arm was very swollen.  I went to the doctor and they wanted to scan my arm to make sure I didn’t have a bloodclot.  Health insurance will not cover me at this point because they say it is pre-existing…time to trust God!  When they did a Doppler x-ray, they found that I did have a few bloodclots in my arm.  They put me on blood thinners to get the clot to go away.

About 4 months later, I started getting tightness in my chest and so I called the doctors and they wanted to do a CT Scan.  When they did a Scan of my chest, they found that I had a “tumor like” mass.  Now they new why I was getting blood clots in my arm!

A few days later, they did a needle biopsy on the mass.  As I waited a few days for the results, I started swelling from my chest up to my face, and it was unbearable.  I ended up getting admitted to the hospital and they pumped me with blood thinners.  While I was in the hospital the doctors finally came in with the results of my biopsy.

The diagnosis was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma type B.  Well that was a shocker, but for some reason I wasn’t super scared.  My faith was really strong and I knew God would be with me no matter what happened.  After they found out what it was, they continued testing me to make sure that the mass had not spread anywhere.  Everything else in my body was normal, which was a blessing from God!!

They also did a bone marrow biopsy.  God is so good because it didn’t even hurt me!  The results from that came back and there was no disease in my bones, which was also a miracle.

I ended up getting my first chemo treatment, and yes it was very rough on me for a few days.  I did what I wanted and I will not let this hold me back from my life.  Later on in the week I had to get a power port put in my arm so it would be easier and faster for the chemo to get into my body.  My next treatment will be on June 2nd.  All in all, God is a great God and he has an exciting purpose for me.  I can’t wait to see what that is!  I already see him bringing people together at my work and my family.  He is so wonderful.  Life would mean nothing with out my Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

Thanks for your support and please keep me in prayer
